this gets me everytime.
blame. blame on kodak.
kodak has been in our town for a very long time. since it first started it has been here. now it's harldy here and moving out more and more each and every year.
and they keep getting blamed for more and more in this town.
but why should kodak be the safety net for the city?
why didn't other manufactures come in and set up shop as a safety net? how come the city officals didn't become pro-active and make sure if kodak, or xerox, or bausch and lomb ever went out there would be something for people to hopefully fall into.
all three of those did that. crapped right out, but kodak keeps getting bashed.
can you blame companies for moving to mexico, or india (like dell) or china?
ny drives companies out of this state. taxes, fines, bs regulations..plus all of the enviroment nut jobs seem to get most companies all twisted up and so freakin messed up.
dell just announced that they are going to hire 5000 workers...great!
but in india.
plus a new factory is going up, great!!
again in india.
imagine customer service now with them. it sucks now as it is, but it will be awful once that kicks in.
so, back to what i was saying. if you could produce a product here in the usa for lets say $10. and someone else can make it for $3.00, plus sells it for less than you cost..
what do you do?
look for better manufacturing techniques? sure, look over seas.
that is where it is. my company does it all of the time.
we have to do it. nothing is really produced here in the us. some is, but there will be a counter for it soon, and a better cost.
how can one buy a bearing, made of steel for less thatn a pack of gum?
how can most us manufacturing companies sell product to the chineese for a great cost, and then have them basically cpoy it, manufacture it, and sell it back at a lower cost than we can buy it for here in the us.
it's sad, but it is life.
have you looked at new car prices lately?
scarry. scarry to think that one day we just might be an importer.
